Mediums Used
Gold/Copper/Silver Foil - For such a light-weight medium, foil can add dramatic highlights and bold flare.
Hand Made Paper -Using different varieties of hand made paper can bring subtle transitions and new dimensions to a piece.
Acrylic Paint - Acrylic paint dries fast and is pretty easy to clean up. It makes painting layers and building-up surfaces a lot fun.
Texture Paste - Another acrylic medium. Texture paste is an ideal medium for building up surfaces. It comes in various colors.
Old Books - Ruby enjoys hunting for old books. The older the better! Sometimes texts from books are added to her work.

Gesso - Is an opaque acrylic medium that is often used as a base coat for prepping canvas or paper. It comes in different shades and colors.
Graphite - Ruby's use of graphite is most often used to pronounce subtle visual textures and surfaces. Other times it is used in her abstract writing.
Glitter - Although the use of glitter is minimal in a select group of work, Ruby loves using glitter in her art.
Self-made Paper - Almost nothing is thrown away. Much of the paper used in Ruby's art is paper that she has stamped, painted, torn, and used to blot.
Stamps - There is a corner of her heart reserved just for the stamps Ruby uses in her work. Some are rubber, some wooden, and some are stamps that she fabricated herself.
Tools - Over the years, the unique tools used to create her work have accumulated. Some of them are as simple as a plastic spoon or a chopstick, others are one-of-a-kind found objects.
Oil Stick - On rare occasions, oils sticks are used to add color and dimension to a piece.
